In some cases, neck pain can be related to a more serious issue such as rheumatoid arthritis, meningitis, or cancer.
Common symptoms of neck pain may include tightness in the neck muscles that can lead to muscle spasms. Headaches can be another symptom associated with neck pain because of the tightening of the muscles in both the neck and head. You may also experience limited range of motion with your neck and head. In more severe cases you may experience numbness, tingling, or weakness.
